DREAM Project Awarded UNESCO International Literacy Prize for its Contribution to Building a Culture of Reading in the Dominican Republic
The DREAM Project is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of the six distinguished winners of the UNESCO International Literacy Prizes for its important work in promoting a culture of reading in the Dominican Republic.
The DREAM Project is selected as a Successful Practices Honoree by the United States Library of Congress
DREAM's successful implementation of literacy promotion practices have been recognized by the United States Library of Congress, being acknowledged as a Successful Practices Honoree. The recognition was specifically given for DREAM's work on Mi Mundo, a free community magazine published by DREAM students. Aspiring young journalists gain hands-on experience creating content relevant to children, youth, and families in their community, written and organized into a dynamic, family-friendly publication that puts Dominican culture at the forefront. Students report on local stories embedded in Dominican life, such as community members, sports, food and music.
The DREAM Project and the LA Dodgers host annual Summer Camp
Thanks to a strategic partnership between the LA Dodgers and the DREAM Project, another successful summer camp centered around fun and learning just wrapped up at the Futuro Vivo School in Santo Domingo. The camp, focused on interactive science and art, hosted 85 students from the academy’s surrounding community.

My Very Own Library Pirate Adventure 2019
The My Very Own Library DREAM Book Fairs offer more than 2,000 students in the Dominican Republic the opportunity to select 10 new books in Spanish over the course of the school year. The book fairs include motivational literacy activities and inspiring special guests that generate excitement for reading, helping parents’ better support reading in the home.
