DREAM Project hosts MVOL book fairs in Santo Domingo and Verón with the LA Dodgers and CEPM
Cabarete, Puerto Plata, DR – DREAM Project, a Cabarete-based non-profit organization, has partnered with two major institutions to host several My Very Own Library book fairs. The book fairs are an initiative to promote the love for reading, in which, each participant chooses three books, a backpack and a book divider, enough materials to have her own library at home.
Last month, two book fairs were held, one in the community of Guerra, Santo Domingo, sponsored by the LA Dodgers and another in the community of Verón, Punta Cana, sponsored by the Consorcio Energético Punta Cana-Macao (CEPM ). On both fairs, activities with a specific theme were carried out and combined fun, learning and love for reading, impacting a total of more than 300 students in at-risk communities.
CEPM Book Fair
Maintaining its firm commitment to sustainability and care for the environment, CEPM held its second book fair with the DREAM Project in the community of Verón, to promote reading and environmental sustainability among students. The theme of this fair was the environment, in which 250 students and teachers from the Verón I Elementary School benefited and participated in two reading sessions, workshops for the creation of home gardens, talks on responsible waste management, and other recreational activities.
DREAM Project is honored to be able to count on strategic alliances that allow it to expand the scope of its programs, promoting the love for reading around the Dominican Republic.
