Charge d’Affaires of the United States Embassy visits the DREAM Project
The DREAM Project was honored to receive a courtesy visit from the Charge d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic (DR), Mr. Robert W. Thomas, who also serves as Acting Ambassador and Chief of Mission. The DREAM Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that focuses on providing comprehensive high-quality education to children and youth in the DR, promoting productive lives in the country. DREAM has had a relationship with the United States Embassy since 2008, which, through USAID, has supported the development of various programs, such as: Espacios Para Crecer (EPC), which seeks to increase school retention of children from 11 to 14 years of age, in addition to the A Ganar and Redes Juveniles programs that focus on achieving a life for youth and adolescents free of crime and violence.

Sueños 2020: Celebrities and Philanthropists celebrated Dominican Independence and the Independent Dominican Woman at DREAM’s 8th Annual Benefit and Awards in New York City
Sueños 2020, The DREAM Project’s 8th Annual Benefit, served as one of New York City’s premier events that celebrated Dominican Independence. Celebrities, educators and some of New York’s most prominent philanthropists gathered to help the organization fund and collect resources to expand their educational programs, impacting more than 27 disadvantaged communities and helping close the cycle of poverty in the Dominican Republic.

Sueños 2019
The 7th Annual Sueños 2019 Benefit continued what has now become a NYC tradition, raising awareness and funds for high-quality education for more than 9,000 Dominican youth. Sueños 2019 took place on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at The Mezzanine on Wall Street, celebrating Dominican Independence Day, Dominican American culture and education opportunities for all.
My Very Own Library Pirate Adventure 2019
The My Very Own Library DREAM Book Fairs offer more than 2,000 students in the Dominican Republic the opportunity to select 10 new books in Spanish over the course of the school year. The book fairs include motivational literacy activities and inspiring special guests that generate excitement for reading, helping parents’ better support reading in the home.
