The DREAM Project fellowship is awarded to qualified Academic Year Volunteers to help reduce their program fee, and is allotted based on education, experience and financial need. We encourage volunteers to seek additional funding through outside sources as well. See our Volunteer Resource Guide for fundraising ideas.
Academic Year Volunteer Fellowship
To apply, include a brief 1-page letter with your application that demonstrates your financial need and highlights your specific qualifications for the program. Funding is reserved to cover only a portion of the fee, so please specify the amount that would need to be covered for you to participate. Those who receive awards usually have advanced degrees, certifications or experience, are advanced Spanish speakers, and can show financial need (submit a W-2 or proof of outstanding student loans).
Dominican Heritage Volunteer Fellowship
For the 2012-2013 Academic Year, we are offering two Dominican Heritage Volunteer Fellowships. This full fellowship covers stipend, housing and all program fees. This is an opportunity for a young, motivated recent graduate to help at-risk youth on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. To apply, include a 1-page letter with your application that demonstrates your financial need, and states your connection to the Dominican Republic and how your knowledge of the Spanish language and Dominican culture will help you during your volunteer term. Individuals of Dominican descent are encouraged to apply.
Sponsor a Volunteer
DREAM is currently seeking visionary donors to support the DREAM Volunteer Fellowship Program. If you would like to sponsor a volunteer, a donation of $10,000 will allow one volunteer to spend a year serving the underprivileged children of the Dominican Republic. If you know a volunteer who is looking for funding, you can donate in his or her name and DREAM will deduct the amount of your donation from their fee. All donations are tax-deductible. Email for more information, or visit our donation page to make a donation.
